Most types of perfume are made following a simple formula that is easy to replicate. The best perfume contains mostly alcohol combined with essential oils, herbs, and/or other scenting items like flowers or dried fruits. The essential oils and alcohol can generally be found in craft stores and some hobby shops while the other ingredients can be purchased at grocery stores or mass merchandisers that carry a wide variety of products.

You must document exactly how much of each ingredient was used to create the perfume such that when a combination is discovered that you really enjoy, the perfume can be duplicated in the future. Most of the time these recipes often may use ingredients that may seem strange at first, but will go together quite well.
